About Me
Pianist Lanjiabao Ge “Jiabao” started piano at the age of five with her mother and later continued learning Organ as her secondary instrument. Jiabao maintains a highly active both solo and collaborative performing career; she is a winner of various international competitions held in Germany, Italy, UK, Greece, Sweden, China, and United States.
Jiabao is originally from China. She was propelled onto the international stage when she won first prize at the 2nd Piano Competition Wiesbaden, Germany in 2002 at the age of eleven. She attended the China Conservatory of Music from age of eleven to seventeen. She then came to the United States and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and Organ Performance at Virginia Commonwealth University. She went on to receive the Master of Music and an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance from the University of Miami. Jiabao finished the Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Florida.
In addition to being a performer, Jiabao is a caring and responsible teacher, her teaching is thorough, detailed, and creative. Her student’s evaluations are highly positive.
Jiabao is currently a full-time staff collaborative pianist at Truman State University in Missouri.
